A Quick and Brief History of Swimwear: 1920s

They called it the Roaring Twenties.

It was a time of liberation and expression and that didn’t just stop at music and art. Women could be free and more comfortable in athletic tank suits, which revealed the body more clearly than ever before. Think an extremely old fashioned booty short with a long tank top. Sound comfortable? Although a step up from swimming in heavy wool skirts (seriously?) and tank suits, the 1920′s was the first major fashion forward movement in swimwear.

The Ryder bottom from Mikoh Swimwear is the modern booty short! Liberate to celebrate the 1920′s in a modern and sexy way.

A Suit for all Seasons

MIKOH SWIMWEAR

In California, we’re mid rainy season and READY FOR SUMMER! Don’t let the rain stop you from the outdoors…why not grab your favorite MIKOH suit, a cute pompom beanie and some Hunter rain boots and heat out into the trees? Think channeling your favorite monster from “Where The Wild Things Are.” I love busting out the Xavier suit… (it’s like business in front and party in back). Loving it in Coral right now. Current location: southern Australia, where the temperature is dropping and they’re getting ready for autumn and winter. My friend Daz shot these in the forest behind the house that we’ve been staying at.

Australia at Dusk

Australia Dusk

What better way to enjoy the Gold Coast sun and heat than a walk on the beach as the sun sets over the land. The bluest blues, accompanied with a white tunic, chunky vintage Adesso and jade bracelets, and the JASPER bottom come together to create these impromptu dusky images.
